Write down the keywords that you expect to be associated with your project
Always know that you are the best person who understands your business, and what you can offer to your customers. That’s why, you will likely have a strong sense of the terms that customers search for to find your business. Try brainstorming the keywords that might be related to your business and then write them down.
Take advantage of the Google auto-complete feature
You can activate the Google auto-complete feature by typing any word related to your business in the Google search engine, and Google will display numerous keywords related to the typed word.
Study the keywords your competitors use
Take some time to research your competitors’ websites, and try to take a deep look at how they establish their content. Research and write down the keywords your competitors use the most. You can do this by entering the web page you want to know the keywords used in, then right-click and select view page source, then press Ctrl+F. After finalizing these steps, a rectangle will appear at the bottom of the right side of the screen. Type in this rectangle the word “Keywords”, and the keywords used in the page will appear in front of you.
Ask your customers
After you’ve done a lot of keyword research, now it is the time to ask your customers directly what keywords they use the most to get to your project. You can do this by using some simple methods such as, sending a quick survey, or asking people directly during phone conversations. There are some useful questions you can ask such as, what terms did you use during your research? or what search terms led you to our project?
